Eeeee! I haven’t been this proud or excited about something in a long time. This month I make my designer debut into magazine editorials with Marie Claire. These shorts were just a tiny piece from my 7 Look graduate collection (Class of 2013, FEDISA School of Fashion Design) called The Bone Collector. The editorial is beautifully shot by one of my favorite photographers; Kristin Lee-Moolman. Check out my full range below.
I LOVE fashion blogging, that’s the reason why I have started a blog of my own. I love seeing other people’s personal style and creative interpretation. So here is a list of my current favorite fashion bloggers (local and international), and a little bit about why I love their style so much.
FANCY PANTS by Amy Scheepers
Amy is definitely my favorite blogger at the moment. I visit her site everyday to check for updates. She has an incredible sense of style and her photos are impeccable, which makes complete sense because she is a professional photographer. I think one of the reasons I love her blog so much is that she’s South African and this makes me incredibly proud. Originally from Port Elizabeth, Amy is now a Cape Town local. INDIA ROSE By India Rose
I recently stumbled upon India’s Instagram account (I think you can tell just how much I love Instagram by now) and instantly fell in love with her simple, black & white androgynous style. She makes style posts seem so effortless and cool. Another thing I (very deeply) respect is her obvious love for Adidas, a clear common interest. India is based in the UK and her style personifies the gloomy weather (in a good way!). Flip, I just want to be her friend.
MICAH GIANNELI By Micah Gianneli
In the name of all things holy, HAVE YOU SEEN THIS GIRL? She is amazing! Her style is impossibly perfect and she generates content like no other fashion blogger I’m aware of. Every dam day, she posts a new outfit. There must be something in the water in Australia because the fashion bloggers who come from there are on a whole different level. Micah’s looks are always current, sexy and perfectly groomed. She is definitely one of my style icons. Also, her Instagram account?! That’s all I’m saying…
MY LIFE IN PINK By Emma Menteath
New on the blogging block is Cape Town model Emma Menteath. Her looks are always perfectly styled and photographed by one of the best in the South African fashion industry, her boyfriend Justin Polkey. This creative combination makes for stunning viewing. Alongside her fashion blogging, Emma posts about health, DIY tips and beauty regimes. Check out her social networks below:
FASHION BREED By Aqeelah Harron
Aqeelah is one of my favorite fashion bloggers because a) she has a beautifully sophisticated way of dressing, and b) Fashion Breed has a beautifully genuine feeling about it, which makes me want to come back to the blog over and over again. The Captonian has been blogging for 4 years now, and it shows. Her site’s design is simple, chic and seriously easy to use. What’s better is Aqeelah is not only beautiful, but great with words too.
